Reliable results in laboratory and field conditions

Starting in 2021, we worked with independent researchers to strengthen our nutritional expertise and develop feed products that put farmers first.

Every product underwent extensive evaluations to confirm its safety, efficacy, and consistency. These in vitro evaluations simulated digestion using enzymes under controlled laboratory conditions. Testing took place at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) and Schothorst Feed Research (SFR), an independent research facility in the Netherlands specialising in farm animal nutrition.

Controlled livestock trial facilities allow researchers to observe animal behaviour, feed intake, and performance under real-life farming conditions.

At Schothorst Feed Research, our GoNutri Protect line also underwent in vivo trials, using real poultry, pigs and cattle. These field trials measured how animals used nutrients under real farming conditions and helped determine the most effective product dosages.

Researchers also evaluated benefits such as animal health, fertility, and infection management under reduced antibiotic use.

We also tested how our products performed when mixed into feed. We studied absorption rates and confirmed that our products’ neutral taste and smell did not disturb ruminal flora, fermentation, or dry matter intake. We also looked at particle size, durability and mixing uniformity to ensure animals could easily eat and digest our feed.

Together, these laboratory and field trials validated the safety, consistency and performance of GoNutri products.

A safe addition to diets

Feed samples are analysed in laboratory conditions to evaluate safety, consistency, and nutritional quality before being used in animal diets.

We take feed safety very seriously. All GoNutri products meet Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) criteria, as well as GMP+ FSA standards.

GMP+ FSA is an internationally recognised certification developed for the feed industry. GMP stands for Good Manufacturing Practices, while the + refers to Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP). Together, they help maintain high standards across every stage of the supply chain, from raw material sourcing to production, storage and delivery.

While GMP+ certification is not a legal requirement, it is widely recognised as one of the leading standards for feed safety. It gives farmers confidence in the safety, quality and consistent performance of every batch.

Our commitment goes beyond certification. Contaminants can enter the food chain through raw materials, affecting both feed and food safety. That is why we work with independent laboratories to test samples from our suppliers for undesirable substances and microorganisms. These include pesticide residues, dioxins, heavy metals and microbiological hazards.

The same high quality, bag after bag

Consistency matters. That is why every bag of GoNutri Energy and GoNutri Protect goes through rigorous testing and quality checks. Supported by a team of 30 external Quality Assurance and Quality Control specialists, we monitor every stage of production so that each batch meets the same high standards and specifications.

One of the tests we carry out is a Peroxide Value (POV) analysis, which measures the freshness of our products. Oils naturally oxidise over time, but excessive oxidation, or rancidity, can reduce feed intake or even cause digestive issues in dairy cows.

Sustainability starts with knowing where our ingredients come from. All palm-based ingredients used in GoNutri products are traceable and sustainably produced. Within GAR’s integrated supply chain, we achieved full Traceability To the Mill (TTM) and 99.8% Traceability To Plantation (TTP)⁶. Beyond our own plantations, we also source from thousands of suppliers. Every supplier is assessed against the same quality and sourcing standards we apply across our own operations.
